The fourth-largest Bitcoin whale has transferred about $500,000 million in the form of more than 21,000 BTC.

On-chain data shows that on May 22, the fourth-largest Bitcoin whale moved more than 21,000 Bitcoin to another wallet. The transaction took place in three different batches of 7,206 BTC each. In total, the unknown whale holds more than 100,000 BTC - about 0.5 percent of the total Bitcoin in circulation.

Just a few hours ago, the address was in third place. However, with the transfer, the investor has slipped further down the list, as it currently holds the fourth largest BTC wallet.

The equivalent value of more than 21,000 BTC today is more than half a billion US dollars. At the time of writing, the cryptocurrency is trading at US$27,260.

According to Bitinfocharts there are now 112 addresses holding between 10,000 and 100,000 BTC. Their cumulative coin share makes up about 12.5 percent of the total BTC in circulation.

With the significant rise in the Bitcoin price, the number of millionaire addresses has more than doubled since the beginning of the year.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin adoption is only growing and the blockchain is busier than ever. Read here how BRC-20 tokens made this happen.
