Voyager plans to refund customers' money in "coming weeks"

Bankrupt cryptocurrency lender Voyager has entered the final stage of liquidation proceedings. Creditors could soon receive their money.

According to the creditors' committee, aggrieved investors of Voyager can expect refunds within weeks. In a tweet on May 4, the Voyager Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors (UCC) announced that the crypto company is in the final stages of liquidation.

The company is now filing liquidation proceedings in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

After the liquidation proceedings are filed, parties have 10 days to file objections. If no objections are filed, it is Voyager's intention to allow the plan to go into effect at that time, the UCC reported

In April, it was still thought that a takeover by Binance.US was likely. However, on April 25 announced the US arm of Binance on Twitter that they were withdrawing from the $1.3 billion deal. The company cited "the hostile and uncertain regulatory environment" in the United States as the reason.
